Applications Administrator
This position reports to the IT Operations Manager.
Requirements:
•
College degree in Computer Science or MIS preferred. Significant experience with the transportation industry and Navis software may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
•
Two (2) years experience required with stevedoring and/or terminal operations.
•
Strong computer background skills required. Must be proficient with spreadsheets, databases, and other PC based applications. Must thoroughly understand operating systems and networks.
•
Must have strong written, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a positive attitude.
•
Must be able to prioritize duties and projects to meet deadlines and to work without direct supervision.
Assistant Controller
This
position reports to the Corporate Controller.
Requirements:
•
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a minimum of five (5) years experience as a Senior Manager or Controller.
•
Must be a Certified Public Accountant.
•
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in an accounting environment.
•
Must have good working knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards Board, Financial Accounting Standards Board Prouncements, sales tax regulations and IRS rules relating to payroll and arbitrage.

Director of Corporate Business
This
position reports to the Vice President
of Strategic Planning.
Requirements:

Must have an
MBA and a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively

record in finance/business.

expertise in cost-benefit analysis, analysis
methodologies, and other economic decision support
tools.
•
Knowledge and experience
in logistical applications is highly desirable.

Loss
Prevention Manager
This position
reports to the Director, Risk Management.
Requirements:

A Bachelor's
degree in Safety/Industrial Engineering,

experience, including specific experience
and verifiable success in safety program
development, loss analysis, recordkeeping,
and training. Maritime, marine terminal

Managing Director of General Cargo Facilities
This position
reports to the Senior Vice President of Operations.
Requirements:

Must have a minimum of ten (10) years extensive working knowledge of terminal operations and business principles.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to negotiate issues with all industry groups.
•
Must have excellent organizational and presentation skills.
•
Must be computer literate and competent using Microsoft Office Suite.
•
Must be able to secure a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card within ninety (90) days of employment.
Police Officer
This position
reports to the Shift Sergeant.
Requirements:
•
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; some college desirable.
•
Must have two (2) years of law enforcement experience as a police officer (experience as a military police officer is a plus but not required).
•
Must be TCLEOSE certified.
•
Must have a valid Texas Driver License.
•
Must pass a physical exam by a Port of Houston Authority designated doctor.
•
Must pass a psychological exam by a Port of Houston Authority approved psychiatrist or psychologist as set out under the rules of TCLEOSE.
•
Must be able to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card within one (1) month after date of hire.
This position is considered an essential employee of the Port of Houston Authority. An essential employee is an employee whose duties are of such a nature as to require the employee to report to work or remain at the work site to continue Port operations during an emergency situation. Failure to report or remain at work when an emergency is declared is grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Program Manager - HSC (Houston Ship Channel)
This position
reports to the Channel Development Director.
Requirements:
•
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering and ten (10) years of experience as a professional-in-charge or project manager is preferred.
•
Must be computer literate and have knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and project management programs.
•
Should be a self-starter, possessing both imagination and analytical skills with a basic understanding of port economics and the importance of ports in fostering business and economic activity in the community.
•
Must have a valid Texas Driver License and proof of insurance.
•
Port industry experience preferred.
Sr. Director of Finance
This position
reports to the Vice President, Finance and Administration.
Requirements:
•
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and a minimum of ten (10) years experience leading Treasury Operations for an organization with a budget of at least $50 million.
•
Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and/or Certified Cash Manager (CCM) preferred.
•
MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
•
Proficient knowledge and skill in ERP computer application required, JD Edwards preferred.
•
Must have excellent computer skills, including the development of complex modeling.
•
Foreign currency hedging and trading experience preferred.
•
Must have strong business and financial acumen as well as superior analytical and writing skills.
Strategic Planning Manager
This position
reports to the Sr. Director of Strategic Planning.
Requirements:
•
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Financial Accounting or related fields. An advanced degree (preferably an MBA) is a plus.
•
Must have a good understanding of financial statements and have excellent experience in business "modeling" and analysis. (Preferably a minimum of two (2) years experience in investment banking or consulting field).
•
Must demonstrate excellent business acumen and be able to interpret, present and recommend business solutions.
•
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively across divisions and ranks.
•
Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Tradesman III - HVAC Technician (BCT)
This position
reports to the Assistant Foreman, BCT Maintenance.
Requirements:
•
Must
have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
•
Must gave completed an apprentice training program or have at least ten (10) years of documented HVAC experience.
•
Must be certified in HVAC systems.
•
Must be certified in recovering and recycling refrigerants.
•
Must have good knowledge of basic electronic troubleshooting and repairs as related to maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of HVAC systems.
•
Must have knowledge of relevant codes such as the National Electrical Code and Uniform Mechanical Code as related to maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of HVAC systems ranging from 0.5 ton window units to 275 ton water chiller (screw type).
•
Must have color vision.
•
Must be able to access and operate standard vehicle and industrial equipment.
•
Must have a valid Texas Driver License.
•
Must be capable of reasonable mobility around job sites having stairways, ramps and uneven terrain.
•
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
•
Must be a registered ACR Technician with the State of Texas.
•
Must possess EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certification.
